Greetings dear WBGFN members!
We hope that this message finds you in great spirits! Here in Washington DC, we are experiencing the first gorgeous signs of Spring after a long winter, both literally and metaphorically. We can only hope that this is a harbinger of better times. The truth is, that the world is experiencing another wave of Covid 19 but on the positive side, vaccinations have started in right earnest all around the globe.
As always, at WBGFN, we have been busy regardless of the external circumstances. In the last month we completed a series of meetings with senior staff at WBG. During these meetings we advocated on behalf of you, our members, located here and abroad. We spoke about the need to ease work permits, improve the relocation experience and better protect spouses and partners who experience domestic violence. We received a wonderful response from our valued colleagues at WBG, who offered cooperation in many areas, including at the different country offices. You all will be receiving soon a survey about your wellness. It will take you about 6 minutes to answer, and is totally anonymous. We need to know better about what stresses you more so we can advocate on your behalf with Senior Management.
In other exciting news, WBGFN is launching a new onboarding program specially for our worldwide members. We are introducing “WBGFN-Families without Borders” on April 22nd at 8 am, open to all our Worldwide membership. We hope that you will join us, meet the team and familiarize yourself with the organization, the opportunities that lie within and all the resources that we offer. WBGFN is an organization that is ‘by members, for members’, without your involvement, and contributions we cannot flourish. So we look forward to seeing you at the various events we organize and to your participation in a variety of ways.
