WBFN programs and activities are run by our members for our members. Our volunteers are members from around the world who dedicate their time, talents and energy to giving back. Volunteering at WBFN is not only a great opportunity to use your skills and experience for the benefit of the WBG and wider communities, but also to learn new skills, enhance your professional development, and boost your social life. WBFN volunteers work in an extraordinarily wide range of positions, from event organization and database management to branding and graphic design. Meet the teams—Communications Team
Projecting the face and the voice of the World Bank Family Network.
We are a passionate group of volunteers using communication skills and knowledge to manage a variety of tools and channels that connect WBFN and its members all over the world with the World Bank Group and other institutions. Our work involves everything seen and heard in the organization, from the website you are in right now to posts about events and activities you follow on our social media platforms. Each message WBFN shares and each product delivered has the Communication Team’s touch behind it.
We always have volunteer opportunities for WBFN members who are looking for ways of sharing expertise and acquiring experience in this critical space. Join us and strengthen the WBFN Communications Team in your unique way within the various strands of our work describled below.
From the bi-monthly newsletter @-a-Glance to the Volunteer Handbook, all editorial content is developed under the Communications Team’s supervision. Our members are responsible not only for timely production but also to meet high-quality editorial standards in the content. Hence our team members are critical thinkers and possess advanced written and verbal communication skills that ensure outstanding publication materials.
Through our Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Groups, WhatsApp, Telegram, and YouTube platforms, you acquire snapshots of our events, services, and campaigns that happen at the Headquarters in Washington DC, and in the Country Offices. The Social Media Team plans, researches and produces content in updated ways, such as live streaming and storytelling, and presents them in engaging designs.
Our website is an open door to the World Bank Family Network. Here you will find institutional content related to our history, structure, mission, programs, services, activities, as well as articles, images, and all kind of products developed by the Communications Team. We also keep valuable content from the organization archives online.
The Marketing Team plans and leads the marketing strategy for the WBFN, providing ongoing support to our leadership, including designing campaigns to effectively drive our members' awareness of the organization's mission. We also ensure brand consistency through all marketing channels.
