The Staff Association is partnering with the Single Parent Inclusion Network (SPIN), the Domestic Abuse Prevention Program, the WBG Women's Network, HSD,
and the WBG Family Network to host a special seminar as part of the 2023 International Women's Day celebrations. 

Leslie Morgan Steiner is an author, consultant and thought leader on women’s leadership, work-life balance, inspirational parenting, overcoming adversity and surviving abuse against women. Steiner is the author of four nonfiction books including the New York Times bestselling memoir Crazy Love. In this TedEx talk, she shares her crazy love story, correcting misconceptions many people hold about victims of domestic abuse. Her corporate experience includes The Washington Post, Johnson & Johnson, Leo Burnett and Seventeen Magazine. Steiner is a regular speaker at international women's conferences and  has appeared as a guest speaker on numerous news media networks. 

 

Myths and Misconceptions about Intimate Partner Abuse: Early on in her career, Steiner had it all. She had a degree from Harvard, her dream job at Seventeen Magazine, and a fiancé she thought cherished and adored her. Then, five days before their wedding, he violently attacked her. The abuse continued during their honeymoon and beyond. In her presentation, Steiner will share her experience and the resources that helped in her journey to escape her husband's violent abuse.
