Family Consultation Services

Did you know that all WBFN members can seek specialized counsel from the Family Consultation Services for any stress related to life transitions or others domestic issues? No matter if you are in Country Offices or at HQ, whenever you feel the need, don’t go it alone: remember you can reach them anytime. They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and not only in English but in many other languages.

The Family Consultation Service (FCS) offers free* and confidential consultations, with licensed multilingual counselors who can relate to internationally relocated families. Assessments, counseling and referral services, either by phone or in person, are available for all spouses/partners and families of the World Bank Group; whether in Country Offices or at HQ. Many of our families reach out to the FCS to get help for:
  • Personal and marital issues;
  • Children’s emotional adjustment;
  • Stress, depression or anxiety;
  • Alcohol and drug abuse;
  • Family or work issues;
  • Legal Problems;
  • Divorce and Separation.
You don't need to face it alone. Call 202-458-5550 or email familyconsultationservice@wbfn.org.

*There is no charge for using a Family Consultation Service counselor. However, if additional help is needed, you will be referred to an appropriate resource in your community. Ask if these referred services are covered by your family medical insurance.

The Bridge, is posted every two weeks, on topics that we think are relevant for worldwide members of the World Bank Family Network. The Family Network is a member organization of World Bank Group spouses and partners.
