During their lunch time, seven very energetic and enthusiastic volunteers came to the Packing Room and helped to assemble scores of shipping boxes and stamp hundreds of books that will be sent to our next recipient country.

I’m sure there are other WBG spouses like me. I left all financial matters to my husband, who loved dealing with them, and was good at it—that was his domain. Even though I had business degrees, numbers were never my thing.

We recently set up a new credit card product where the spouse is the primary card holder, even though he or she may not have an income. The spouse will be eligible for one on her own, on the basis that there is a household income.

Whether it’s explaining the cost of things to younger kids or placing restrictions with older kids, raising financially responsible children can sometimes be a daunting task. Here are a few ideas that may help you start your child off on the road to being a financially responsible adult.
