This series runs as a cycle of 4 workshops over a period of 4-6 weeks. We will be offering 6 cycles in FY12. Cycle One started in September. We are requesting that ALL spouses/partners begin our programs by attending a Ready to Launch Your Job Search workshop.

Ready to Launch Your Job Search
Cycle Six

This is a day-long, engaging, interactive workshop, which introduces participants to an integrated, action-oriented approach to job search possibilities in a global context. Topics include career-expanding responses to relocation, the Mobility Principle, career identities, personal assessment, employer expectations, and setting the stage for a job search. After this initial session, participants proceed to the workshops described below or place their registration “on-hold” and attend the remaining workshops at a later date. Participants must submit requests to place registration “on-hold” by writing to globalmobility@worldbank.org.

Resumé Writing
Cycle Six

Your resume is an important tool in your job search process. Interested in learning how to write a competency-based resume? This is the preferred style of American employers. Learn how to write accomplishment statements that describe and quantify relevant work and life experiences for each specific job for which you wish to apply. You will have the opportunity to write and receive feedback on your accomplishment statements.

Networking
Cycle Six

Networking: mystery or method? This is a vital component of Jump Start Your Job Search. This four-hour workshop explores the role of networking in an action-oriented approach to career transition and job search. Participants learn how to network with cultural awareness, identify different networking stages, and practice talking about their career transition and job search.

Interviewing
