GLOBAL MOBILITYThe Global Mobility Unit (HRSGM) supports the World Bank Group’s recruitment, retention and decentralization efforts by providing services and resources to support family transitions and thus, enhance staff effectiveness. To achieve these goals, HRSGM Specialists provide mobility & relocation support, including resources, referrals and guidance to staff and families at headquarters, as well as, to those relocating to country offices. These services are provided through one-on-one consultations, workshops, lectures, seminars and various monthly support groups. Most specifically the following are services and programs which are provided by HRSGM.
Relocation and Mobility Services
The Relocation and Mobility Specialists provide service in areas such as housing search; child care options; education guidance and counseling; and guidance for elder care services. The team also publishes country briefings, coordinates support for staff and families relocating overseas and conducts a monthly overseas assignment briefing seminar open to staff and spouses relocating to country offices.
Spouse/Partner Career Support
The Spouse/Partner Career team provides information and support to incoming and outgoing spouses about career opportunities. This is achieved through transition and career coaching sessions; job search skills development workshops; and advocating for spouses/partner within the WBG and other organizations.
Crisis Response
HRSGM develops and maintains a variety of systems and services which can be activated in the event of a large scale crisis to assist staff and their families. These systems include: activating a crisis phone line to provide crisis related information to staff and families; accounting for staff and families; and providing a range of emergency support services to those affected by the crisis.
