April was a busy month at the Family Network with the Annual Events and Exhibits, and the Children’s Art Competition and Arts and Science Festival. All these events were successful and well attended. Hope you were there. May too is an eventful month at WBFN. We have three major events lined up for members this month; the Annual Membership Meeting on May 13 is when you will be able to hear reports on the challenges and achievements of the network and offer your opinions and ideas. You will also have a chance to vote for the next year’s Executive Committee. The bios of the Executive Committee members are featured in this issue. So, be sure to read them and come to the Membership Meeting to vote. The MMMF Forum is on May 17. It is an opportunity for all members to meet remarkable women from developing countries who have been selected in a rigorous process for a grant to study in the USA or Canada. Our Annual Dinner on May 18 is when we celebrate the work of all the volunteers. You are all welcome to the dinner along with your spouse. But, you need to register for these events. Be sure to go through the announcements of other upcoming events this month, like the BFSFCU and Pension seminars. Two of our members bring you interesting articles. Liang Zhang writes for us about how he became a tour guide in Morocco and Rosa Lia Troch tells us the story about how she came to publish her father’s memoirs. Finally, do not forget that the month of May signals us to get outside, plan for end-of-school-year activities, organize our vacations, and enjoy a fun-filled, hectic calendar.
Please do not forget to send us your articles, feedback and comments. We can better gear our newsletter to your requirements if we know what pleases our readership. We always strive to make our newsletter as interesting and informative as possible. Hope you like the issue this month!
