Mosaic Editors Maaike Legrand and Vidya RanganLong light-filled days, blue skies with fleeting white clouds, flourishing gardens, cheery birds along with relentless heat are all welcome signs of summer. To keep you busy we have a longer issue this month, so spend many happy hours reading! Inside this issue you will find many useful articles. The highlight this month is the MMMF grant recipients, we have published short bios of these wonderful women and urge you to go to our website to learn more. We bring you a discerning article by Catherine Mathieu, who gives us useful relocation tips she gleaned from the Houston Conference. We give you a retrospective view of four main events that happened last month: the Children’s Art Contest, Children’s Arts and Science Festival, the Annual Exhibits and Events and the Multi-Org Meeting. Be sure to read them but also remember to go online to see wonderful pictures. Oleg writes again, this time about a smart summer reading activity for teens! Tania, our computer teacher talks about the sequencing of computer courses, a very useful guide for those who wish to join our future classes. Soon, the children will be out of school bustling with enthusiasm at the advent of their long-awaited holidays...if you are wondering what to do and where to go…I have a list of enjoyable trips, all right here in the DC Metro area. Audrey Hoffer in article talks of her fascinating trip to Turkey with an emphasis on climate change.

The Mosaic team has strived as we do every month to bring you an interesting newsletter. We hope you like it! We also want to thank all the regular contributors and members who have sent their writing to us over this past year and wish all the readers a happy and peaceful summer. The Mosaic team will be back in September after a hiatus in July and August. Hope to meet rejuvenated members in September willing to share their insightful articles and stories for future issues.
