Mosaic Editors Maaike Legrand and Vidya RanganThe New Year has dawned and has brought with it new beginnings, new opportunities and new experiences lined up for all of us in the days ahead. Remember to enjoy what we have at the present moment and not lose sight of all the wonderful things we have with us, reminiscing about the past or yearning for the unknown future. For all our members we would like to take this opportunity to again let you know that WBFN is a place where you can just walk in and make long-lasting friendships.

In this issue, we carry two very useful Dear Mosa letters that we hope will help all our membership. Our English Class teachers and students give you a clue of how useful and exciting learning this language at the WBFN can be. Rosanna brings you a write-up of the ever-popular Children’s Holiday Party. The Children’s Holiday Party is our largest event for families, and if you missed this event last month, make sure you attend the one in December 2010. This month we are beginning a new series on “Volunteering and what it means to me.” We think this is a special topic for our members, since we are all volunteers who are trying to make a difference to a project, event, activity or person. Maaike begins this series and has a wonderful perspective on how we can help ourselves while helping others. She is also the writer of the article, “Belisa’s Job Hunt,” the incredible story of how Belisa never gave up her attempts to find herself in the right job. This story surely has a positive approach and promise for all our job hunters. Our Teens article, “Latino Lineage,” features how important it is to imbibe the good from all the cultural experiences that surround us.

The Mosaic Team wishes all WBFN members all the best in the year ahead. Happy New Year!
