oon we will be able to give up our thick, dreary, black woolen coats for our lighter, brighter and colorful jackets as we transition from Winter to Spring. Spring is when everything comes to life and instills hope and joy in all our hearts. What’s in this Issue? We sadly bid farewell to Rosa Lia Troch, our past-president and long time dedicated volunteer, who initiated the SOP among her other wonderful achievements. Two of our Welcoming Team members, Maaike and Daniela, give you an idea of what SOP and Get-togethers are.
As you celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th also reflect on how indispensable a stable family is to women who wish to leave a mark on both the home and society.
Our article on the topic talks just about this. Our culinary journey continues in this issue, and we travel with Maaike into the Dutch country to get a glimpse of their food history and special dishes. Vim Maguire then brings you back to DC to experience authentic Mexican fare in Casa Oxaca.
Finally, our teens candidly talk about issues that are particular to their age. We hope all our teen readers will find the article useful and be prompted to give us their feedback. Lastly, find useful tips on your MIP’s. Do not hesitate to give us your responses and contributions for future issues. We strive to make our issues better and that cannot be done without your suggestions, opinions and criticisms. So, please send in your comments.
